Update on THE LINE

Posted by Shannon On January - 31 - 2010

I am pleased to say that THE LINE #4 WILL be out in 2010. I don’t have a date, but it will be hitting by the end of the year. And, I am happy to say that Eric Gravel will be the one finishing the penciling duties on the issue! I will be more than likely making some slight changes to the issue as we go along getting it done, as I wrote the original script almost two years ago.
Beyond issue four, I cannot say right yet. This issue is the end of the first arc and I have been wanting to get this issue out there for those who have been loyal readers of the series up till now. I appreciate everyone’s support on the book all these years. It’s not always easy making a self-published title like THE LINE, but it sure has been a great experience.

On the Road

Posted by Shannon Chenoweth On January - 4 - 2010

I wanted to start with Breakfast of Champions, but couldn’t find it in stock at the bookstore Saturday and unfortunately, the local library doesn’t seem to have this book at any of it’s branches. So, I decided to start my first book read of 2010 with Jack Kerouac’s On the Road. Oddly enough, I have never read any of the author’s work. I have heard great things, just never took the time to check out any of his books.

Reading update

Posted by Shannon Chenoweth On January - 2 - 2010

So, I have not been doing well in reading my Sherlock Holmes book…don’t get me wrong, it’s a great book, I just have been very mentally scattered and busy with the holidays. No more excuses though, the holiday insanity is over (even though we are going to be very slammed at work for the next 6 weeks) and I need to settle down and read daily. Decided that while I want to get through Sherlock Holmes, I am going to try reading another book first that is not filled with short stories and is rather one complete novel. Which one am I going to start with from my list? I am allowing myself the day to decide upon that. There are some great novelists on my list and while I am out today, the bookstore will beckon me. More on the decision later…. :)

2010 Reading List

Posted by Shannon Chenoweth On December - 19 - 2009

I have high hopes for the new year. 2010 in my mind is going to be great. Yes, there will be downs with the good of course, but I plan on making it a year to remember.
This said, I have started to make goals for myself. One goal is to read more in the new year. I used to read a lot. Need to get back to that again, as I love reading. After deciding to do this, I had to think. How many? Just to allow myself to add new books that might come out, I’ve set my list at 25 titles. I would like to read at least 35-40 if I can though by year’s end. We shall see how that goes. Here is the list of the first 10 I plan to read. To be fair, I may end up adding something not on the list in here, but I do plan to definitely read the following:

1. Sherlock Holmes Vol. 1 by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
2. The Yiddish Policemens Union by Michael Chabon
3. Look Homeward Angel by Thomas Wolfe
4. Breakfast of Champions by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.
5. On the Road by Jack Kerouac
6. Blue Like Jazz by Donald Miller
7. 1984 by George Orwell
8. Naked by David Sedaris
9. Red Harvest by Dashiell Hammett
10. Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky

Starting before January 1st with Sherlock Holmes. Will begin to read this tomorrow.
